Mr. Hunter emphasizes real estate law and has been representing real estate developers, investors, brokers, and lenders since 1970. He has extensive experience in negotiating, documenting, and closing real estate sales and exchanges, commercial leases, financing transactions, joint ventures, and construction and management contracts. He has also handled subdivision, zoning, and other land use regulation matters, mortgage and trust deed workouts and foreclosures, and real estate litigation, including specific performance, broker malpractice, construction disputes, and fraud and misrepresentation cases. Mr. Hunter is experienced in planning the income tax consequences of real estate transactions and developments.
Mr. Hunter is an accomplished public speaker. He has spoken for the Association of Commercial Real Estate, the Building Owners and Managers Association, the California Mortgage Bankers Association, the Sacramento Association of Realtors, Grubb & Ellis Company, TRI Commercial, Colliers International, Marcus & Millichap, and California Continuing Education of the Bar. Mr. Hunter was, for five years, an adjunct professor of law at Western State University College of Law teaching real property law, secured land transactions, and suretyship. Seminars Mr. Hunter has created and taught for real estate brokers, with Department of Real Estate accreditation, have included such subjects as tax-deferred exchanges of real estate under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code, the agency duties of real estate brokers, negotiating commercial real property leases, partnerships in real estate, and the drafting of deposit receipts and purchase and sale agreements.
